When real, yes. Audiences are skeptical of obvious lighting tricks — top fitness channels keep both halves in the same lighting/pose to build trust.
What about exercise demonstration thumbnails?
Mid-rep peak position (the squat at parallel, the curl at full contraction) reads better than rest poses. The viewer should be able to identify the exercise instantly.
How do I avoid looking like every other fitness channel?
Pick a recognizable backdrop (specific gym, outdoor location, white cyclorama) and stick with it. Color grade consistently across videos.
Should I show my face or my body?
Both. A reaction face draws emotional clicks; a physique shot draws aspirational clicks. Test which converts better for your channel.
